Quoted one price for all-inclusive several days of day rate production and mastering, which was paid in-full, on time. Weeks after the session took place, we were told that we still owed more than $2K. We told them that was impossible, as we'd already agreed on a price and had already paid. We backed this up with phone records, copies of emails, invoices, credit card statements and text messages. Allegedly, they had neglected to add in the mastering costs (though it was clearly quoted on the invoice and had been paid already). They held our masters hostage until we agreed to pay the extra $2K+ for the mastering which had already been paid for.
Additionally, if you're a female, expect rudeness from Miss Lazar, who was openly hostile and ignoring my professional questions directly addressed to her. (I wasn't badgering her with them, but would ask a couple questions through the all-day session.) She seems to feel threatened by other females in the industry, even if those females are respectful of her and her craft. Additionally, when introduced and informed that I ran a record label, she asked which one, then snickered dismissively and said, "Oh, huh, that's funny, I've never heard of it. So what is it you've done exactly? Anything I would have actually heard of?" in an arrogant tone laced with condescension. It got to the point that the band I managed asked me privately why she was being so rude to me and if we'd had a negative run-in previously. (No, we hadn't, I'd never met her before in my life and had been very impressed with her work.) Stay away!
