First-rate arts and cultural programming, and workshops, most of the time free or very reasonably priced. Open to the old stock Lower East Side community, but ran by a young, energetic and urbane group of artists and scholars. Smart, fun and socially
committed place. Glad to see a place keeping it real in the downtown area, breeding ground of the ironic hipster.
