The Learning Experience

My son has been attending this day care for a little over a year now, and is currently in a toddler classroom. He loves seeing his little friends in the morning, as well as his teachers. Many days he doesn't want to leave, and I have to coax him out of the classroom. My son has grown attached to all of the teachers he has had thus far in the different classrooms. He has had only one ear infection, and sick only one other time since entering the daycare. The teachers follow my instructions that I give for my son and always feed him the extra snacks I send for him or lunches when I know he will not be interested in what the school is serving that day. If I know he has a diaper or rash or seems to be developing one (only when he is teething, he's never gotten a rash as a result of the school not changing him- he is changed every 2 hours) the teachers check his diaper/change him every hour for me and also use the special creams I send in as per my request. Basically, the teachers are engaged and attentive to my son's needs. I also appreciate the predictability and structure to my sons day- I know, and most importantly, he understands his schedule at school. His naptime, lunchtime, playground time- diaper changes, etc- are predictable for him- which is so important for young children. I appreciate the fact that I can look at the time while I am at work, and know what my son is doing in school. The daily logs at the end of the day are usually filled in precisely, covering everything related to my son's day- what and when he ate, how long he napped for, diaper changes/type of diaper, etc. In addition, I usually ask the teachers more detail about his day during pickup, and they are able to fill me in in more detail. I've also called the school a few times a day on some occasions to check on him, and have received a detailed update on his mood/sleeping/eating throughout the day. Overall, I would recommend this day care to any working parent who wants their child to be safe, stay healthy, feel loved and have a great time during the weekdays.
