I really hate to do this but I will never go here again. I was there 2x with a friend and we ate outside. I overall think the vibe, decor, and atmosphere are really nice. They are in a prime area where they can easily get a lot of business from locals. It's in walking distance to a lot of nice residents.
First time we went, food was great. I had the fried fish with collard greens, mac n cheese. My friend had the fried chicken, same sides. We liked it a lot. We bought our own wine.
Second time, just a couple of days ago...no good. We bought our own wine again but were given glasses that were very visibly dirty. I saw finger print, smudge marks, lipstick all around the glasses. Honestly, we were shocked that was even presented to us. We asked them to be cleaned again, they came back even dirtier than the first time. Third time back, we just asked for plastic. Then we realized, that it is the "waitress". Very nice lady, please don't take this the wrong way but she appears to be just a family member or friend. She brought us plastic cups and we saw smudge marks all over them. You must clean plates and utensils thoroughly and you must also "wash your own hands" before dealing with customers and food.
We ordered the same dishes as before. Mac n cheese came to us luke warm like it had been sitting out for hours. It was also apparent that it wasn't baked. It looked like someone mixed the cheese in and never put it in the oven. We asked for replacements and got a baked batch, very hot. Clear difference. Also, no cornbread even offered. We didn't realize it til the end but it didn't matter because our minds were already made up.
We notice that mostly people take out from here but if you can't keep your plates and silverware clean, I think I'd rather fry my own fish at home.
We won't be back, I'm sure they mean well and they seem like nice people but the dirty glasses were disgusting and I just can't think about going here again.
P.S. Your collard greens are amazing!
