Stopped in for happy hour with some boys for burgers and beer. Got exactly what we wanted and more. Cozy place on the Strip and good people. Enjoyed the deep south Shore feel and friendly service.

I went to The Inn a lot in the summer of 2010. I found they had very good food at reasonable prices, a friendly staff and lots of good music. I had a lot of fun at The Inn Idol, their amateur singing competition that was accompanied by great Long Island cover bands like Peat Moss and the Fertilizers. They had a really good singer/songwriter at their Monday night open mics as well. At other times they have lots of great cover and tribute bands. Per the review by "m" of November 17, 2010, it is a bar-restaurant on the beach, not Tavern on the Green. It has an unvarnished waterfront look and can have a loud party atmosphere with lots of drinking, which is how such places make their money after all. As far as cigarette smoke, I don't like it either. But should we ask or expect small businesses to enforce the law? Should a bartender, or even a bouncer, really be the smoking police? I don't think so. I look forward to returning to The Inn this summer!

This place really deserves 0 stars!! for several reasons:
Don't ever go there if you don't like places that routinely and blatantly ignore New York State law against smoking in bars/restaurants!! The cops and Board of Health should fine this place and yank their liquor license for violating this law. When I pointed out to the bouncers that people were smoking in there, they were obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful to me and continued to allow it. If you don't mind breathing in that garbage all night and coming home smelling like an ash tray, then I guess this is your place.
In addition, I attended a "private party" upstairs where a $30 open bar bracelet was available. As the designated driver, I was not going to buy the open bar bracelet. However, I was not allowed upstairs to the party with my friends unless I paid for an open bar bracelet, which is absolutely ridiculous!!! I should not be forced to pay $30 and get nothing for it!! Furthermore, some other drivers might not be so smart and decide to then get their money's worth since they were forced to pay the $30. This policy could encourage and result in drunk driving!! So don't ever have your party here unless you want to screw over your friends who are driving or have your friends drive home drunk.
