Awful customer service. Waited way too long for someone to help us select a dishwasher, then no one showed up. Let's just say when I buy my dishwasher I'll be going to Lowe's. Never coming back.

I happened to be in the are and stopped in this store for some quick supplies i needed on the job. I had the worst experience getting help and to make matters worse there was no registers open just the self checkout. I couldn't find all the items i came in for and ended up going to my local store in Bloomfield.

I called the store's tool rental department to ask if they swap out propane tanks. The gentleman was very nice and said yes they do. He told me to just bring the empty tank to any cashier and they will take care of it. Ten minutes later, I'm at the store. I walked in and within 30 seconds got verbally attacked by some "tapped" employee. Yelling at me loudly and angrily to "get out of the store with that tank! You can't walk in with that!!!" He appeared and sounded extremely angry. He was out right rude and nasty. Other employees and clustomers were starring at him in disbelief that he was yelling at me in this fashion, however no one interfered. Completely dumbfounded by his behavior, I proceeded to place my propane tank outside the building, walked back in to find the store manager. I clearly explained what happened as we were walking back to the area this occurred. There was a customer that witnessed the event and said to the manager, "if he yelled at me like that, I would've decked him". The store manager was VERY polite, calm and respectful to what happened and promised to take care of the situation. He made me feel better about what happened, since I was shaken up by the incident. He gave me his card. His name is Gary Garciano. He is what a store manager should be. He was professional and effective in his problem-solving. I appreciate having the opportunity to deal with someone like him. Because if it wasn't for him, I probably would never return back to that store, and I've lived in Clifton all my life. Thank you, Gary!

I got to experience truly great customer service at this Home depot location. I had rented a Cargo Van for one whole day and was supposed to return it next morning at 7. Overnight we experienced very heavy snowfall (8-10 inches) and the main arterial roads were not cleared and treated yet. I was concerned of being charged for any extra hours beyond 24 hours so I called in the Truck rental in the morning and the guy (Mannuel - goes by Manny I think) assured me that I will not be charged extra and asked me to take my time and return the van when I feel safe to drive it. After the main roads were treated, I drove to the home depot (about 15 miles from my place) and stopped over at gas station (just across the Home depot) only to find the Van get stuck in snow (the area around the gas station on bloomfield ave was not cleared of the snow). I tried calling AAA roadside assistance but the uber terrible service they are, they decided to CLOSE their operations till later in the day (can you imagine a road side assistance closed especially when people need them the most during a snow storm??). I called this home depot and asked if they could help. Within few minutes, I saw these two staff from home depot (One was Manny, dont recollect another guy's name) walking up to me with their snow shovels. they cleaned the snow around the tires and managed to get the van out and drove it to their store. I cannot imagine what, how I could have done with AAA leaving me stranded in a snow storm. These two guys were like God sent to me..I cannot thank them enough for extending me not just customer service but being more human. Thanks Mannuel and Home Depot for going above and beyond!
