Smallish but wonderful museum experience. Almost always empty when I show up. Amazing works - see for yourself.

Mind-blowing collection of Spanish paintings. The whole museum has a wonderful old-school Spanish charm. Best of all - it's free!

The Hispanic Society of America
Quaint free museum and reference library for the study of the art and cultures of Spain, Portugal and Latin America. It includes artifacts from antiquity through today. I spent one morning here.Worth a visit.

We took our children here this morning to participate in a group kids session and had a great time. It was set up like an informal art class, right there in the museum itself. It reminded me of my art classes in my university days, except it was geared at young kids 10 and younger. The program directors, Cristina and Marta, were really fantastic.
I would recommend taking your kids here for one of these sessions if you can. The sesions are conducted in Spanish and are a great tool for the kids (and parents) to meet other families and gain education in Spanish.
