It's a pretty nice place but it all depends on a couple of factors. For one, I ended up going during winter, where all the plants were dead so the scenery on the park itself was a bit disappointing. There was a small spot of well maintained grass though, which was nice. Additionally, there was a lot of construction going on. That made it a little less pleasurable for me.
Nonetheless, it's not as if this is how the park is all hear round, hence it's five star rating. Once I got closer to the end, the scenery was beautiful, and the view over the edge was amazing. I can't wait to see what the park looks like in the summer, when everything is well maintained and the weather is warmer. If you're going to go here, try going in late spring or anytime in the summer.
Bonus: You can still see a lot of the old train tracks, many of the original tracks remain exactly as they were.

Very nice place to walk. I've been here before but I wasn't aware that it went so far (14th to 30th). It offers great views of the water and looks even better in the spring.

Really cool elevated park. It is a reclaimed train/shipyard dock trolley system that is elevated about the streets and stores with vegetation and great views of the city. Its a good walk to go across the whole thing and definitely worth a visit. This may not be a great place to do exercise (i.e. running) during the day because of tourists and people sightseeing, but would be a great place to get in a nice walk without worrying about getting run over by a taxi.

A great walk through both the old buildings and new developments of the West side.
Walking above the traffic you get a unique perspective of the world as it runs around below you. In addition there are a range of artworks on display to distract you from the views occasionally from the small and discrete signs and statues to larger wall-sized murals.
The start and end points have a detailed history of the high-line, explaining the reasons for building it and more recently the reasons for preserving it.
All in all, I thoroughly recommend taking a wonder if you find yourself in the area.

One of the best things done in a heavily populated urban area. Great place to walk and enjoy the beautiful garden and the view of the surroundings. The contrast of the garden flowing like a river in a canyon of buildings is amazing.
