Excellent service. Amazing steak. We were here for the Thanksgiving meal, and everything was fantastic! Granted, I don't know what is on the menu normally since it was a Thanksgiving special.

My girlfriend and I eat out 3 meals per day so we feel are somewhat of the NYC restaurant connoisseur group. We enjoy good food, good service and a comfortable setting. This morning for brunch we met friends at Le Pain Quotidien at 861 Lexington. It was nice as always and all organic which we also like. During our brunch our friends kept raving about this place across the street that they eat dinner at weekly so we decided after our breakfast to stop by. It was quaint, clean and had a nice menu. We decided that we would eat dinner there after we hung out in the Park for the day. We entered around 5:30 on a sunny day so we decided to eat on the outside patio. The hostess was the most pleasant person we encountered the entire day as she seemed more like a friend than a staffer. She then introduced us to the bartender who was also just as friendly. We sat outside and they both came out periodically throughout our ordering and meal to chit chat with us which we found extremely refreshing. We were also meeting several other people from the area as well which made our meal that much more fun. We were drinking our typical Sunday Bloody Mary's and decided to take the plunge into ordering some food. We looked, then we ordered some of the most interesting dishes we have ever had in NYC. I had Chicken Kiev with a Risotto that I am still craving for the day after. My girl had a light salad, the Squash Soup and a Scallops entree that was cooked to perfection. This place was not just a great restaurant with great food but it was also a place where we can say we felt at home. Good people, good food, good atmosphere this place has it all...

Great ambiance and love that they have humanely raised meat, but they need more vegetarian options.

I say I hated but actually I haven't been to the place. Was due to go on Thursday with 7 other friends (today is Tuesday) when the restaurant called to ask if we could move our booking to another day as they have now booked out the restaurant for a party..!! How is that possible? Seems that they were waiting for a confirmation and just got it, yet they accepted our booking over 3 weeks ago... Wonder how many other customers they bumped off that night...Needless to say we will not be rearranging our booking with this restaurant...
