Saddened to list myself as a Trinidadian. I don't understand how Trinidadians can be so inconsiderate. Employees at this place, wake up, travel to work knowing that their goals isn't to answer anyones questions, be polite to anyone or answer the telephone. What's the point?. Trinidadians love to use the term "common sense". So using my common sense would tell me employees here dislike their jobs, and their own people. Please Stop being so nosey into clients personal life. I'm sure if we were to ask these employees about their personal lives, most of them don't have any, or their husbands are drunks, or their wives are cheating on them. Listen we come for guidance and assistance. We don't come with fire blood to disrespect anyone. Stop blaming everything on Trinidad, we are in the US with well updated technology. Stop blaming the system for being backup. The employees of the Trinidadian consulate makes the system and process slow.

I have never written a review before but this was warranted. As far as I'm concerned NO STAR. We are at their mercy and they dont care it is blatantly disrespectful to the people to have a business like this and not have someone answering the phone giving info at ALL times. Over the course of at least 6 months I took time off work 3 times to try to get my passport renewed each time I went they mark in red in all over my information sheet and told me I had to come back knowing my mother was severely sick in trinidad. Unfortunately I cannot take time off work days in a row I had to spread it out and at my last visit I was so upset I said to the security guard my mother can die before these people process my paperwork for my passport he said no have faith your mother won't die. Sadly my mother did pass away one week after and I was unable to go to her funeral they said I can get a pass to go to trinidad but I have to stay down there until I get the new one which may be months. I truly despise that place and the manner in which they do things in such a primitive manner. My mother is dead so I refuse to get a trinidad passport again. Can you believe it is easier to get an American passport.

I have been trying for the past six months now to contact the consulate office for information about passport renewal.
But to no avail they will answer as I'm
Tied to my job, wanting to know if there's a way I can mail in the applications Rather than spending all day at the office. So this can be expedited quickly.
It seems I will never get this answer.

I have heard that it takes six months or more to have your passport renewed.
That's unbelievable and unheard of.
As we merge ahead into the 21st century
We expect that things are done much more rapidly but this cannot be.
With the mentality of Trinidadians and the Government, this is impossible to keep up with time.
30 years ago I could have gotten my passport in less than a week.

Now 30 years after it's taking more than six months. That's why everyone is laughing at us. As we go further in time we are going backwards in technology.
It's really ashame.
They must first change their attitude before changing anything else.

Will they ever pick up the phone in this modern world is yet to be proven, but I doubt it.
Just unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelievable.
Be prepared for the future looks very dull in renewal of your passports.
Start trying a few years before it expires.
This is my advice to other Trinidadians.
I was forced to give a star.
Just as dealing with this experience
If there was an option for minus stars
They would have gotten it all the way down, that is how badly I feel about their services and ways of running a government agency.

I was expecting such a terrible experience because of these reviews but I had the opposite. I agree they don't answer their phones but everything else was seamless. Your passport takes about 4-6 months to be sent back to them from trinidad but keep checking their website for updates. Don't be discouraged by these comments!

I accompanied my husband for a passport renewal. I was told at the door I had to leave since they only allow the person conducting business in the office. I was not allowed to wait in the hallway and was told to leave the building. Thankfully the very nice people on another floor allowed me sit and wait. The staff in the office is discourteous and uncivil. They do not know how to answer simple questions properly. Their website does not have vital information pertaining to a passport renewal. Forget about calling them, they don't answer the phone. My husband sat down and witnessed the phone ringing constantly and no one wanted to answer it. He was advised a passport renewal takes 4-6 months. I'm still wondering why it would take 4-6 months, in this modern century we live in where there are companies like Fedex and ups and also "Express U.S. mail". I returned back into the building and tried to ask if the passport can be expedited, I am more than willing to pay any additional fees since our 10 year wedding anniversary is in July and we planned a vacation. The staff looked at me like I had four heads and simply said to me " there is nothing they can do". I feel bad for the other people that are dealing with more time sensitive items like visa and deportation. Good luck to anyone who has to visit this place. I am pretty sure they will make it a memorable visit.
