I have actually been a client at The Academy NYC before it even opened- I was so excited I called for weeks straight before the doors were even put in! I do come here sporadically throughout the time they have been open. The main reason for this is the caliber of professionals that come out of this institution make you want to follow them where ever they go. I have probably had my hair done by 6-8 different students, both levels, and always had a fantastic experience start to finish. From the teachers to the students, everyone is so wonderful to be around and are always willing to try something new. You won't be disappointed!

I'm a current, soon to be graduating student at The Academy NYC. It's been an amazing experience and the learning leaders are great. They never hesitate to help me when i need it and the teams that the school offers such as The Be Nice or Else Team, The Take Home Team, Design Team and Student Council are all great as well, but also educational. No matter what you do here, your always learning something in fun and different ways. I couldn't be happier with the choice i made in coming here.

I am a full time student at this school and it has been an a amazing experience. I would recommend this school to everyone no matter how young or how old. You get great training in everything cosmetology. We do makeup specialty, we do hair specialty. The learning leaders are amazing and their teaching skills help a lot. Thank you The Academy NYC for everything.

Do not enroll here unless you're in touch with Paul himself of have a job already lined up!!! The school is beautiful and everyone was really nice when I had my tour. I ended up not enrolling because when I asked around at other salons and with other professionals I know they all told me the above. The reason for this is because of what they teach. They only educate on things Paul Mitchell including the way they cut color and style. So the education is not varied enough to work in any other salon making it difficult to find a job. Also the tuition is ridiculously high so your mostly paying for the name of the school.

I love the highlights the student did on my hair, they came out perfect! But the cut on the other hand wasnt what I had in mind. I show them a pic of how I wanted the cut, after everything was done the cut was super short and so was the bang. This is a cute cut for the spring or summer but not what I wanted for the winter. I will likely go back for my highlights but my cut I will go else where.
