This is the worst bakery I've ever been to. I didn't receive the cake I ordered, looked nothing like the photo on their menu. The cake was also frozen which clearly means it wasnt fresh nor made to order. This place won't last long. Oh and the 5 star reviews on here are submitted by the owners themselves......

First it wasnt the cake we ordered. They showed us a cake in a photo and gave us a totally different one. Second the box was very flimsy that had the cake in and it fell and broke.Well partially due to the overload of buttercream. Wanted to try this place out but i'll skip for next time.

I've used Alissa for my cakes many times over the past 4 years and was happy every single time. The cake inside is always fresh and delicious. I recommend getting a chocolate cake because it always tastes like a brownie. I've also had the coconut cake and it was also very tasty. The fondant work has only gotten better over the years - cuts more exact and artwork more colorful. It's hard to pick a favorite cake, but I think two of my favorites are the white iphone cake complete with apps and icons and the pregnant belly baby shower cake. I told Alissa exactly what I wanted for both and that's exactly what I got. When I didn't specify colors for the shower cake, she asked me for the invitation so she could at least match the cake to that and the party favors. Both cakes were beautiful and tasty and everyone was asking me where I got them. I enjoy my experience at teaspoon and I never leave there empty handed since her baked good are delicious. How could I leave without a cheddar dill scone? This place is a "must have" in Bayside.

My husband and I don't have enough words to describe our experience but I will do my best anyway. The "custom cake" we ordered for our baby shower was a disaster to say the very least and the service was even worse. The fondant work was awful (i.e. finger prints in it, falling apart). The 'toppers" were supposed to be "teddy bearS and blockS" it ended up being one teddy bear (2.5 inches tall) and three crooked blocks (.5 cubic inches each). The blocks were outlines with brown coloring and the work boy across the three blocks...all crooked, different sizes...the excuse...the blocks were meant to look like they've been played with??? What does that even mean?! When we asked for someone in charge...the "professionally trained pastry chef" aka owner finally arrived...and instead of helping us to figure out a solution or at the very least offer us something, anything, she kept insisting that "it's beautiful, we are all so excited to post a picture of it on our website". My husband..normally a very mild manner man, became himself infuriated after hearing that line repeated over and over....the cake was clearly not beautiful nor worth the $250 she charged us for it. To make matters worse..being that it was the night before our baby shower...we had to take the cake and I had to run around at 8pm the night before the shower to find a cake topper because it looked that awful!!! It may have been acceptable for a $50 cake but not for a whopping $250 dollars!!!! Horrible experience...the owner Alissa was horrendous...never had anyone tell me "the customer" that I should love something because THEY think it's beautiful!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
