It's a beautiful piece of art. I went out of my way to visit it because I just wanted to see this in person.
Very hidden because anything from Russia is treated with care by American officials.

This is so beautiful. It's to bad it's kind of hidden. It was a gift from Russia. And so nice, just look at the pictures. It's worth the quick trip across the water if your down near the 9/11 site anyway...

I think it is completely understated. First time I have heard of it and honestly I'm not happy about it. It's beautiful and a wonderful gift and I don't understand why I haven't heard about it!

Off the beaten path? Absolutely.
This is a beautiful memorial, stunning. When you visit it, you can see why they chose the site.
I walked around it several times in the rain. I took photos of the panels that have a personal meaning for me. I read the inscriptions on the paths.
Deeply moving.

Somewhere I read that it represents the tearing of the veil in the temple at the moment Christ died. It had a profound effect on us, and the tearing of temple veil seems a good representation of what we felt on 9/11. The word "tear" has more than one meaning in the English language. We shed a tear when someone tried to tear our world apart. I think it was a lovely gift from the Soviet Union. Sincerely, Eleanor Takahashi Inskip.
