I am permanant residence of australia and recently moved to nyc for continuing my education. Yesterday, I went to this bank and one of the staff name Alex did not open account for me, and just told me I can not find the reason you want to open account. First he told you need to bring a utility bill like gas and electricity. However, I asked him what other documents You need to open the account, he just said We do not open account for you since we do not understand why you need the account in us. I do not understand if being a student is not a convincing reason. It seems they do not really respect their customers. They just want to get ride of you and tell something imposible for the documents and when you accept to bring them, then they show their real face.

Tellers are nice when you actually get to them - the wait time is really long, especially if you need a rep. They are perpetually very understaffed.

yes the teller gave out wrong information. they should be properly train.

Some of the staff is very helpful but sometimes there is a bit of confusion when I ask about certain services. The bankteller gave me the wrong information.

Horrible service. They do not inform you of the information you need to know. This is very alarming, ended up losing money. Not helpful at all. I will never use this bank again. The employees were very rude in my experience.
