We've been @ Tartine over several years about 6 to 8 times a year. It was always good to great. Two weeks ago we've experienced the biggest disappointment. The steak was overcooked and the sides were cold. This can happen. But the Waitress/Manager was sitting on another table talking the whole time to a guy. Didn't come over once to check. Table service was provided by a helper from the kitchen.
Sad to see that this place is going down the drains... Go to a place where they still value you as a guest - there are plenty around the neighborhood.

Great for brunch but there is always a wait. Dinner specials are consistently good too. BYO and cash only.

Requested a table outside & waiter said other people were waiting without offering to let us know if one would become available. The service was awful, very unfriendly, zero warmth. The food was mediocre. The chicken was fried although menu said it was chargrilled. The music in the restaurant was awful, a radio station that was way too loud. Overall a lackluster experience.

We've been here before and the food is excellent, but when we stopped in today, there was a cockroach on the dining room floor! It crawled right past as we were ordering and on my husband's foot. The waiter saw it and didn't say a thing! We got up and left. I feel badly, because it is a cute French-style bistro with tasty food, but the sanitation makes me nervous. Hopefully this is something that can be resolved!
