This Mexican food is pretty solid for New York, and especially for the Upper West Side/Morningside Heights. Definitely a must visit if you are desperate for Mexican food in the area.

This is one of the best Mexican places in the area. Very modest decorations with the best prices and insane portions. Nice service and very good quality Mexican food. A real experience. Try the superb GIANT burrito.

I lived in NYC for 7 years between 2007 and 2014. I moved apartments at least five times in that time period. I made sure Taqueria Y Fonda was not more than five blocks from any of the apartments I lived in. Needless to say, I love this place. My favorites: Chicken Pipian, Fried Whole Tipalia in garlic sauce, and Chicken Burrito.
