TAB Transmissions

Friendly, honest and very knowledgeable. Just got my Blazer back and it runs beautifully. Went in thinking I had a trans issue but after a quick ride with Tom and a diagnostic check he was able to tell that it was an exhaust issue instead. I then questioned if I had the right place and he told me he would love to get it running nice for me no matter what the issue. This is a guy who takes pride in his work and is willing to explain how vehicle systems work, which means a lot to someone technical like myself.

Service and Work that was done to my Tacoma was prefect. I was very happy with quality of work, professional documentation and personal service. Bill; thank you for help and picking me up from train station. Work was done fast and pictures update on Facebook was something unexpected. Very good idea. I will recommend you to anyone that needs work done on transmission. Thanks guys I'm very happy with you.

Unfortunately, I was in need of a transmission shop. We went to Aamco, who said they would rebuild the engine for $2500. We searched Yelp for a local place to get a 2nd opinion and saw the positive reviews for Tab Transmissions.

The guys at Tab were very upfront and honest with us and didn't try to rip us off. They told us that there were a myriad of other things wrong with the car, which were most likely affecting the transmissions performance, and that the total cost to get our car running as it should be just wasn't worth it. I truly appreciated their honesty, because they could have just done the work and profited from it, as Aamco would have, but instead they overlooked the money to give the best service.

I highly recommend this place. I told them that I hope to never have to see them again, but if I'm ever in the unfortunate need of transmission work I will definitely come see them.

This is by far the best shop I've ever dealt with. Nice, clean and professional. Tom did a great job replacing my clutch and flywheel and without a doubt actually cares about his customers cars. Kept me informed throughout the install, which was a very quick turn around. When i returned to pick my car up, Tom went as far and putting the car on the lift and showing the clean work preformed. i trust my car with these guys and I HIGHLY recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

Clutch replacement & flywheel resurfacing, ~$1,400, 2 days

Overall excellent experience. Never thought I would keep the car long enough to need a new clutch. Waited too long and chewed up my lightweight flywheel pretty bad. Tom was able to resurface it, saving me a bunch of money. He even showed me my old mutilated clutch and insisted we go for a test drive to ensure the work met my expectations. The new clutch is good quality and feels great.

A few hundred miles later my shift linkage breaks, causing my shifter to feel loose but still operational. This is a common issue with the RSX and at 212k miles it was only a matter of when. Still, so soon after the install, I decided to see what TAB could do for me. We agreed that any additional repairs were on me. Tom looked all over for replacement parts but none were cheap. Instead of billing me for an expensive part, Tom fixed my current linkage free of charge. Again, saving me a bunch of money.

I don't usually trust shops with any of my cars and usually do the work myself. With TAB, I know my car is in good hands and the people there have my best interests and wallet in mind. Thanks TAB!
