Symphony Cleaners on 95th Street is by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life (across all industries). I have been going there for the last year simply because of convenience (Columbia student). Over the year, the lady at the counter, Jacky, is extremely impolite, nasty, and rude to myself and, as I have observed, to other customers as well. I am assuming she is one of the other owners, which is why she has such an attitude. When I drop off my laundry, she does not greet you and, if I ask any questions, she dismisses them as if my concerns about delivery time and the condition of my clothes are nothing.
One time, she dropped my linens out of the laundry bag after she weighed my bag (which, by the way, is always 1 or 2 pounds heavier than what I read on the scale). Afterwards, we get into an argument about whether she will charge me an extra three dollars for the linens to be put back on the scale. It is not a big deal about the money, but the attitude I have to put up every time I go there is asinine.
95th Street location get volume business not because it is good at service, but because it is located well. Dry cleaning is a personable and service-oriented business. However, I feel angry and ripped off every time I leave the store.
