Susan Valenza is a remarkable lady who combines a thorough knowledge of the eyeglass industry (30 years) with a keen sense of today’s fashion.
I found her store while in Nutley after stopping by a Lenscrafters close to my job, and also trying a few of the smaller stores in Nutley.
She listens and offers suggestions, but doesn’t lead or cajole, and when you’re ready to talk details of the frames and lenses, she’s a font of knowledge. Her Dad was in the business, and to this day she does a lot of the manual work, even some cutting lenses, on her own.
We wear our glasses 18 hours a day, but we often treat them as if they’re just another thing, like a toothbrush we buy cheaply. For the first time in my life I overcame my skinflint tendencies and decided to finally get a quality pair of frames and lenses; two weeks later, I remain thrilled.
I thoroughly recommend her to anyone who values expert knowledge of their products and a fine sense of style.
