I had an excellent experience this week at this Supercuts location with stylist Nina. I had a wash, cut, and blow dry session. I got a pretty major haircut; about 7 inches worth was taken off. Nina was super helpful and provided her honest, professional opinion on what would look best for me. I originally wanted a pixie, but she convinced me that a bob would look best (considering factors like how the hair will lay, how it will grow out, my hairline, my hair type, and my face shape) and she specifically taylored the perfect bob with side bangs just for me and even went so far as to offer to cut it down to a pixie later in the week if I wasn't satisfied (but I totally am!) She was friendly, sweet, upbeat, and professional, and gave me a very pleasant and comfortable experience. I felt totally at ease in her chair, even though this was my first time having her as a stylist and my first time back in this salon in about 10 years. I also appreciated that she is completely fluent in English which, for me as a native English speaker, made it an even more comfortable experience because we could more easily communicate. She really is an artist and totally passionate about her job and giving her customers her best work! I highly recommend her. Her shampoo massage was also very enjoyable! Best part, I only paid $30 (including tax, not including tip)! The other staff were pleasant and friendly with a good sense of humor. This place is walk-in only, by the way, but you can call to see when your preferred stylist is in for any particular day or week and you can call when you are on your way to give them a heads-up. They also have a smartphone app you can use for this purpose. All in all, I highly recommend!

Most awful hair cut I have ever had. I am new to the area and went looking for a new hairstylist. I chose super cut because I thought the prices were very reasonable. I walked in and there were 2 women working that day and there was about 3 people waiting. Unfortunately I ended up with a hairstylist that was just rushing to cut as many heads as possible. I have long hair. I went to get layers and had asked for bangs. This took 5 minutes. When I got home and took a look in the mirror, it was a disaster. My bangs were awful. I had pieces of hair sticking out that had grown out from my last hair cut. I will never go go to this place again.

OK, so I went to this top stylist in Manhattan and they charged me $260 for JUST a half head of highlights. I walked out looking like a SKUNK! They were SO thick and tacky and they did NOTHING to condition my hair or cut or even BLOW DRY it! I was VERY UPSET. I am a young single girl living in NYC so I don't have $300 to be dropping everytime I want my hair done.
WELL... I went to this particular SUPERCUTS on Montague in Brooklyn and a guy called JEFF HOOKED ME UP! Not only is he the sweetest most adorable man on the planet, he gave me a half head of BEAUTIFUL NATURAL looking highlights, put a deep conditioning glaze over it to protect my hair, washed my hair, CUT my hair AND BLOWDRYED it for LESS than $100!!!!!!!!
I walked out of there SO happy, richer AND looking SO HOT!
Jeff is a LEGEND and I will never go anywhere else. He used to be a top stylist at another salon but because of the benefits he gets at supercuts, he decided to work there and then he could still have the flexibility to DJ and such. I am telling you, this guy is a real gem and you would be stupid to go anywhere else. You won't find a better service, with a nicer guy that's cheaper! TRUST ME!

I have always gone to the same barber getting the same haircut for almost 20 years. So one day I decided to look for something new. I saw a commercial about supercuts. I thought it was a place with professionally skilled people. My first visit to this location was great. The place was full of energy and packed with people. MY hairstylist was awesome. She cut my hair and it had style. This experience replaced my old barber shop. My second visit was not good. MY hairstylist was gone, and there was a middle-eastern woman talking too much and nosy about what the other stylist were doing. She would stop her client frequently to check on mine to ask questions. She didn't let my stylist finish her work my haircut lasted an hour to do a regular fade. My second visit a hairstylist took down my name. After three people I was next and the nosy woman stopped her client to called someone else. After everyone left she saw me and said I did not write my name down. There was one name left on a sticky note and she acted like she didn't see it I learned that night the nosy middle-eastern woman is the supervisor. She always uses the chair closest to the window. The third time I was not sure whether to go to this place again. I was in a rush and didn't have time to look for another barber so I went again. This time its empty and there are new recently hired young stylist who just cut your hair for 1/2 hour in the same spot. So much time to make it look like a hair cut when it was just a snip and comb here and there. I still tip for effort but I am done with supercuts. If the supervisor reads this she definitely will know who I am. When I asked for a fade or tapered back side she once told me those were barber terms in a salon clients or customers should know their numbers for ex 1 3/8, 2-4 sides. number of the rubber clip they have to use. I am still looking for a good barber. Hope this review has helped.
