I currently am a senior at old westbury. I transferred after my freshman year from another institution. I am a PEL major and it has been an amazing experience. Looking at these reviews I think that its what you make of the school. At every institution you will find staff and faculty who do not want to be there and who do not want to work. So I do not think that its an old westbury problem. I have learned so much I love my professors and I get involved. This is not a division 1 school for sports so sometimes the "school spirit" lacks, but when its time to be involved people do get involved. It is not a perfect school and yes things like the shuttle bus and helpfulness of some staff should change but it isn't a horrible school. I love what I came here to learn and my peers are great people. I am a proud Panther.

So far, during my time here, I have realized that this school does not care about the students. They try to grab every penny from you and if you don't have that one extra penny, they disregard you and don't offer much help. There is no campus spirit and everyone pretty much sticks with their own kind. Lame.

I visited the school and it is really awesome. I highly recommend it to students who are thinking about majoring in premed they have an awesome biology program. And also great for students who don't like big colleges and want to get around with ease. The only thing I didn't like was the shuttle bus, it takes for ever to come but it's a very beautiful campus and a lot of friendly staff and people. Also the classes are small which promotes a better learning environment. Anyone thinking for going here you should give it a shot and hopefully you like it like I did.

I read the reviews and decided to give the college a try anyways... Worst decision ever... Come here if you are a masochist. The students and even some faculty are so ignorant. This is not the ideal learning environment. It's worth it to a marginal degree if your in the honors college, if not, I pity you. Of all colleges I have ever attended this is the worst. Only one of my professors actually teach.
