Went in there to get a water. Felt like if I wanted a sandwich there I would have gone to another. The staff was polite but the clientele was sketchy.

I love this place so much. I've been coming here for more than 6-7 years, back when it used to be a humble little place down the street. My foodie friends from LA claim that everything on the East coast pales in comparison to what they have at home. That's fair, not gonna dispute that. But I do think this is one of the best places to get Korean food in Queens.
The thing I don't like about this place is that the service can be pushy if you don't go all out. I came here as a party of three and we ordered 2 bbq dishes (which I believe is the minimum for ordering bbq) and one other non-bbq dish. The waitress kept insisting that we order another bbq dish, which I can understand since bbq is a lot of work on her part, but we weren't super hungry and thought that 2 would be enough (and we were right). This is the reason for the one star off. The TL;DR is I recommend coming here with an empty stomach with no intention of holding back.
That being said, it certainly IS worth it if you are going to go all out. The banchan, as others have mentioned, is plentiful. We usually get the pork belly bbq and the marinated beef rib bbq at the very least. I believe those are the house favorites, as well. We also often order the dolsot bimbimbap (or whichever one has meat in it hah, I get them confused), the soondubu jigae, and the kalbi tang, all of which are REALLY delicious. Because we're such old regulars, if the boss is around, he'll be extremely generous and give us extras like cabbage soup and steamed egg. Sometimes we'll even get extras when the boss isn't around. Pretty sweet!
Meals conclude with complimentary dessert (a slice of pineapple and some kind of lightly sweetened pumpkin soup). The ambiance is a big upgrade from their old location, much larger and brighter. They are accommodating for very large parties (I've seen groups of over 14 before). On busy nights, it can be hard to get a waitress's attention, to refill banchan or otherwise, but when you do get their attention they are usually nice enough.
To conclude, this place is a no-brainer for Korean food, despite some occasional qualms with the service! Whenever someone suggests "Hahm Ji Bach," my mouth waters just thinking about it. If that doesn't help then nothing will!
