Reviews to Straus Park
The plantings in the park aren't always in great condition, but the Straus Memorial is one of my favorite sculptures in the city. On the subject and style, see Dianne Durante's *Outdoor Monuments of Manhattan: A Historical Guide,* and the videoguide app, Monuments of Manhattan.

Dedicated to the memory of Ida and Isidor Straus, who perished on the Titanic. She refused to get onto a lifeboat along with the other women, choosing instead to stay with her beloved husband. An elegant statue and fountain grace this lovely pocket park, a block from where they lived.

Great place for kids to play in the fountain on a hot day.
