Straight and narrow is a great place to get the help you need. It's not for those that need it its for those that want it. Drugs on the corner or not.

I spent 2 months in this place majority of the staff is uncaring ignorant they place u in rooms with woman who are covered in sore with diseases they play favoritism and give extra privileges to who they like the place is dirty rooms are so small 2 people shouldn't be in them they allow sexual relationship between the woman stuck in there by jails and dyfs. They force every patient to go on welfare so they can take all the benefits while the state is already paying them

Staff is very unprofessional and rude. I don't recommend this place to anyone. My sister was placed there through drug court and she walked out and hasn't been seen since as of 7/20/15. No family or emergency contact were contacted. They never filed a missing persons report. My other sister and myself are from the Jersey shore so we drove an hour and a half to get there, searched all over Paterson for her tried to go to straight and narrow for any information or help they could possibly give us and were told that we need to leave they don't have to tell us anything, wouldn't even give us the time of day to explain our story. They didn't try to lead us to taking the right steps of trying to get help they just couldn't be bothered.we're searching for our little sister who has no money no phone has nothing and it was like oh well it's not their problem. Please if you have someone you care about do not send them here. Especially if they have a drug problem it's located in drug central they can walk out go to the corner and find drugs. Hope this helps anyone who is really trying to get help for their loved ones

I have worked for Straight and Narrow on and off for a period of 7 years throughout my eleven year career. I began my career in substance abuse counseling, was able to obtain my CADC (later reciprocity became CASAC in NY) and I was also encouraged my staff to pursue my MSW which I am in the process of doing now.
Straight and Narrow became my first professional family. Yes, I have absolutely seen many changes, many turnovers of staff and clients but I always felt the love, care and respect of the residents. I gave my all when I was there and it will always hold a great place in my heart.
