I would like to comment how pleased I was with the service provided to me by Cheryl Balcer and the team of RichSteve Environmental & Construction Group with their recent services to remove oil tank in the property (house) I was selling.

From the beginning until the end the process was clear and there were no surprises. Cheryl worked with me to get this moving and we were able to get it completed before I left out of state. I would not want anyone besides RichSteve doing this type of service. When the team came to remove the tank they were there early with all equipment and clearly knew what they were supposed to do.

Oliver was extremely professional and kept us informed throughout the whole process until we got the green light from the county inspector. This is a service you do not want to go cheap, RichSteve is affordable, honest, local and most importantly knowledgeable and professional.

I have very high standards and RichSteve’s team exceeded them every step of the way. Being a Human Resources Director, part of my job is to spot outstanding achievers and make sure senior management is aware of their dedication. I am not sure of Cheryl and Oliver’s current roles, but I would urge you to put him in a training or leadership role so their talents can be seen by others.

Let’s face it, the idea of having a leaking oil tank is nerve racking. If you are a home owner in NJ , it is likely you heard a story or two about tank removals and the remediation process. We certainly did. And every story left us with horrible anticipation about the entire process. No one we talked to was happy with the work or project process. We knew we wanted to move forward with the tank removal and update the heating in our home and eventually sell our property. With no satisfied customers in our circle of friends, we turned to online reviews and sending emails to the numerous companies in New Jersey Hands down, the response from Steve Rich was the most professional and thorough of the responses we had. We were sent a cost estimate and timeline which included different scenarios depending on what was found at the site. Their proposal was honest and we felt assured Steve Rich would carry out this project with integrity. The reality never deviated from their projections. And even though we did have a leaking tank, the project moved forward to completion and we received a No Further Action letter from NJDEP.

The workers on sight, were on time, courteous and explained the work they did. All permits and communication with utility companies occurred flawlessly.. When the tank was lifted from the ground, it was apparent there were a few rusted out holes. The workers showed us the holes and explained what had to happen next.

Suzanne Penn, the project manager was incredibly comforting, knowledgeable , resourceful and prompt throughout the entire project. All of her correspondences were well explained and always referenced the NJ DEP regulations. She handled communication with our insurance company and soil testing labs. I learned way more than I will ever need to know about remediating soil! She never seemed too busy or unwilling to answer any question or concern we had. And always within just a few hours.

Tracey O’Connell, the office manager helped us with the pages and pages of paperwork for the application for reimbursement funds.

It is obvious each employee of Steve Rich is an expert in their field, take pride in their work and have the utmost respect for the customers they serve. I would without a doubt, recommend Steve Rich to anyone considering an oil tank removal , remediation of soil or other related environmental services.

Everything worked out perfectly. They removed an old oil tank. Their estimate was exactly on target. They worked out all details with our town and made things easy for us. They were also very responsive and professional.

The guys who removed the tank were meticulous. They treated our property as if it were their own. They really cared about doing the job well and keeping us satisfied.

I recommend them highly.
