This is the place to come if you want to experience Bergen County history.

While the historic nature of the Steuben House is amazing, its very sad to report that the Bergen County Government, which has some control over the area and also has vast control over adjacent open space near this area has made the decision not to support the historic nature of the Steuben House and even made cuts to the Parks budget and under corrupt County Exe. Donovan pledged to sell the surrounding property. Worst yet is that Donovan has hired the nearby owner of a restaurant, one Sanzari to constuct a new $147MM courthouse and in return plans to sell open space to expand parking lots near Sanzari's restaurant and parkland near the Steuben House from what has been reported.

My father lived in New Jersey growing up. I might own some of the original keys to the Steuben House. They were inherited by me at the time of my father's death in 1975.
