Step Ahead Day Care Center

A wonderful and nurturing environment in which my daughter has not only learned a lot, but has made many friends. The staff are very warm and treat her like she is their own child. They provide delicious and nutritious meals, complementary gym, dance and music classes. The children are given time to play outside, engage in arts and crafts and are taught valuable life and academic skills. We absolutely love this daycare and have been with them for a year.

Like most moms, I started out thinking no one could ever come close to giving the kind of care and guidance to my child as I can. When Lucia started going to Step Ahead Daycare at 6 months of age, I bore the guilt of every working mom leaving an infant in someone else's care for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, worrying if she was happy, slept well, fed well, how she would develop and grow in an environment and schedule away from her mother for almost all her days…. It was Ms. Irina and Ms. Sofia who first brought it to my attention that Lucia was missing her developmental milestones. They worked with me to get her the individual attention she needed by finding two of the most wonderful therapists; volunteering their time and space so that all sessions could be performed without jeopardizing my employment. In addition, they even found me an hours babysitter when work was particularly demanding (a woman Lucia still lovingly calls Mommy Bona). Now at 5 years old and graduating to formal schooling, Lucia has grown up a healthy, bright, sensitive, well behaved, intuitive and introspective little girl.

In hindsight, the worrying and stress were for naught. The time, attention, effort, and teaching she received in her wonderful world called Step Ahead is something I never could have provided as effectively as a full-time working mom. The classroom training from such a young age, the discipline and values she gained along with her absolute love for learning and creativity has prepared her better than I ever could alone. I am not one to dote and brag about my child, so when Step Ahead recommended that she take the city gifted and talented exam, I was a little incredulous, but tried nonetheless. She excelled better than I even hoped and imagined, garnering a spot in one of the city’s top G and T program. I know how little of her waking hours she spent with me during these, her formative years, so I know full well where the credit is due. I could never repay all the wonderful teachers from Ms. Alicia to Ms. Helen and Ms. Kathy, Ms. Venera, to Ms. Elina and Ms. Veronica and everyone in between (including all the dance, music, and gymnastics teachers). No amount of thanks could ever suffice for Ms. Irina and Ms. Sofia for creating Step Ahead Day Care: the best possible introduction to a world of learning fun for our little one. We will miss this haven immensely.

Making the decision of where to leave our daughter Emma while we are at work, was not one my wife and I took lightly. My wife felt guilty that we could not care for Emma ourselves during the day but we need both of our incomes to survive in NY. Regardless we were not willing to settle for anything less than the absolute best for Emma. After visiting close to a dozen daycares in the area I am confident that we made the best possible choice with Step Ahead.
The staff at Step Ahead is incredibly polite, intelligent, professional, and clearly have a love for children. Emma looks forward to going there every week day and seems to be learning a ton of stuff as well as visibly improving her social skills. The place is kept immaculately clean and the staff have been incredibly accommodating even when we have ran late because of traffic from work. I highly recommend their services to anyone who wants peace of mind while they are at work. You will know that your children are in the best of hands.

Really great atmosphere and the staff is incredibly caring, and sweet. They absolutely make a parent feel safe that their child is in good, trustworthy hands. The lessons seem extensively thought out, and are very fun for the kids. Very easy to deal with and would strongly recommend.

Deserves NO STAR at all. I did not like the way they took care of my child. The staffs, and the so called director were very unprofessional, irresponsible and uncaring. VERY DISCRIMINATORY. This day-care deserves a thorough investigation from authorities (police/city officials/state) in how they are treating the kids. Wasted money for few weeks. Luckily, we found a much better place. Would not recommend any loving parents to send their kids to this one.
