Really cheap and good food. I come very often to play chess on weekends. We sometimes stay until 4AM playing chess.

Was excited to play some pool here. Upon requesting a table I felt as though the gentleman behind the register was telling me who was paying, not how many I stated. Not a good start.
When paying the bill, i seemed to have been over charged. When questioning the bartender, I was told i had an old menu, but the bartender had the same prices. Considering they were unable and uninterested in supplying me with a reasonable answer, I will not be back.
They only get the two stars because the tables were actually nice to play on. The 60+ I paid for an hour of pool and a hand full of beers was worth it one time to see if Earl might be playing.

The place in general is pretty quiet. The music is on low volume so I wasn't able to really hear much. The service isn't bad but isn't good either. Some bartenders were nice, while others weren't so nice. They must work on having friendlier workers. Not that pleased.

Simply put this is one of the finest billiard rooms in the Northeast.
Steinway Billiards is a cavernous space with over twenty Brunswick Gold Crown tables, including a 10'x5'. There is a large seating area a fully stocked bar and an extensive menu featuring, among other things, excellent Greek food, betraying the owners' heritage. Warning - the desserts are extremely addictive!
Rates are around $8-9 an hour and the equipment is well maintained. Home to the great Earl Strickland as well as a number of touring professionals. There are regular house tournaments and most of the local tours will make stops here. If you want to see good pool, this is a place to frequent.
