Great butchers. I came here to get a goose to cook on Christmas. The place was packed but they handled everything extremely well. If you are looking for a nice cut of animal and live around cobble hill this should be where you buy all your meat.

Upon initial approach this store seems like the kind of meat market you tune out from: well organized, sterile, and to the point. Nothing to draw me into why this is different from both the supermarket or well designed shops along the same street. Customers walk in, order their pork chops, and walk out. I asked the butcher if there was anything that made his shop unique and he immediately pulled out a large Toscano salami and shaved me off the most see-thru paper thin slice. The fact he could cut it that thin, and knew immediately that I would be impressed by an often smuggled piece of meat, spoke volumes about the knowledgeable staff and quality product.

Staubitz isn’t for shopping for gift items like many of its equivalents along Court Street. This is a functioning butcher and grocer providing only quality items at competitive prices. They are proud of their work and products with no arrogance about it.
