It is nice place to see statue, no doubt. If you don't want to go out on the water, then this is your place. Otherwise spend the money and go on the ferry's and get an up close look.

Taking the Ferry the crew was late. We were told to show up 30 min early and the gates didn't open until much later. Just show up later. You'll have to wait in a line, but you'll get on a ferry.

Pretty quick ride. I would suggest getting tickets in advance because I think they do sell out quickly and you must get tickets pretty far in advance if you want to go into the crown of the statue. Also note that the crown of the statue is not handicap friendly.

Tickets are cheap and they take you to statue of liberty and Ellis island. Take your time because lines can be long due to airport like security.
