I brought my 3 year old to Stat MD because we were staying with family an hour away from her regular pediatrician. She had a fever & cough, and I told the doc that I just wanted to make sure she didn't have an ear infection. The Dr. checked her and said she was done without checking her ears for an infection. I had to make a point of asking her to check her ears, because she has had an ear infection in the past without complaining about it. She said there was no infection but prescribed antibiotics anyway. She also prescribed a decongestant which I know pediatricians do not usually do for 3 year olds. Even the pharmacist who filled the prescription was puzzled and asked me how old my daughter is and where I got the prescription. I tried it though to see if it would help her not cough all night - it did not help at all. The doc also took a swab of my daughters throat. I called the following day to get the results and was told it takes at least 3 days - seems to me like the results would be pointless by then. Anyway - if you're thinking of bringing your child here, don't bother - go to a pediatrician. Stat MD is probably fine for other stuff though. Everyone was nice and the place is nicely decorated and clean.
