Statewide Auto Recycling

EDIT: many calls later and about a week after, Angelo helped us change engines and we received one that was in better conditions. had we received this engine at first they would get a better rating.

I paid $1600 for an engine that they said was on site(it wasn't, i took their word for it), and in very good conditions. once it was delivered, it was broken in more places than i can count. They would not give me a refund.

Please do yourself a favor and do not go to this place!!!

I have been a customer of Statewide for ~3 years and have always received top notch client service. The owners are always very helpful and honest. Definitely recommend this place.

They are by far the worst of the worst, as an auto repair owner, I will never do business with this people again!!

I took my car to a licensed mechanic who told me I needed to replace my transmission,he also said I could save money by buying it myself. I went to Statewide Auto Recycling and purchased one for $600.00 for my car 01/22/11 they told me it was on site and it would be delivered on 01/24/11.On 01/24/1 it was not delivered,so I called Statewide Auto Recycling and now they tell me that the transmission wasn't at the Newark sight but at the Brooklyn site,Statewide Auto Recycling said they would be able to delivery it 01/25/11. That day came and went.A transmission was delivered on 01/26/11 at my mechanic's shop,he called soon after and told me Statewide Auto Recycling delivered the wrong transmission, I called Statewide Auto Recycling again and was told OK and they would send the right one on 01/27/11,which didn't happen. The transmission was delivered on 01/28/11. My mechanic installed the part and then called me and said the part was defective. I called S.W.R and was told they would change the transmission for a another one on 01/31/11, I didn't receive another Trans til 02/04/11. My Mechanic charge me another $300.00(Mechanic total charge 600.00) to replace and install the replacement Trans.I called Statewide Auto Recycling and asked would they pay for the labor they said no,so I paid the mechanic for the second time to install the Trans. Once he completed the installation he called me and said that Statewide Auto Recycling sold me another defective Transmission. Statewide Auto Recycling receipt says that Transmission are guaranteed to be in working order or refund your money back, but every time I try to get my money back they tell me that I cant be refunded.I loss a lot of time from work dealing with S.W.R and I just want to be refunded my money for the labor and Transmission.PEASE!!! don't deal with these people they poorly ran and very dishonest.. Big learning experience!!!!

BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have never experienced such rude people!!!! I know.. its a junk yard.. what do you expect. But when u have the owner calling you a prick, you can imagine!! I took a day off work to purchase the part n fix my car. 10 days later still no part and no money!!!! The gave me the wrong part. I wasted my whole day. Said they would find me another part the next day. OK. Which turned into the next day.. then the next day... then the next day! That man-ly B**** Carol is scum!!! Directly telling me lies about getting me my money back. "The boss isnt here we have no money." To find out the boss was always there the few times went there! WELL 10 DAYS LATER AND ABOUT 5 TRIPS TO THIS PLACE Im fed up cause i need my car to go to work. I go because Carol says the boss is here, come now but he can leave any second. LEAVE any second??? She could just tell him to give her the money cause I was coming. Or Just tell him "a customer is on his way" please stay till he gets here. Well make a long story short. I asked for my money. I was told "we dont carry cash"(everyone pays only with cash.. they have it!) I was told "I DONT GIVE ANY1 THERE MONEY BACK." "IM LUCKY TO GET MY MONEY" "COME LATER WHEN I HAVE MONEY" "WANT ME TO SQUEEZE WATER OUT OF A ROCK" "I DONT HAVE THE MONEY Y ARE YOU BEING A PRICK" This is how this place does business. I will write about this horrible experience whenever i get a chance!
PS this is the first review i write in my life. Thats how bad i want every1 to know so they dont go thru what i wen thru!!!!
