Staten Island Heart: Costantino Thomas MD

This Doctors office is a joke. I was in the ER on 12/2814 and was told to see a doctor in 5 days. I was recomended his office by the ER doctor. I called the next day and made an appt for 1/2/15. I had a 2pm appointment. At 10am I get a phone call that my appointment needed to be rescheduled because "the doctor was ill" - sounds to me like he decided to not come in the day after a holiday. I do not drive and arranged for someone to leave work at 1pm in Manhattan to come to Staten Island to drive me to the Doctor. I was upset, I have anxiety and I really don't want to die and need to see a doctor sooner then later. They tell me they can get me in at 11am or 1pm. I explained what part of I don't drive and cannot get there until 2pm at this point is the issue? I speak to Maria the nurse manager, she keeps talking to me like I am 3 yrs old,condescending and rude. Yes I lost my temper because my anxiety kicked in....she then hangs up on me. Really? This is how you treat a new patient who only wants to be seen as directed by doctors in the hospital that Dr Constentino is affiliated with? I then call back and ask to speak to the office manager, surprise, suprise - she is off, but I get Ashley who is sweet and nice, but uninformed and obviously new at this. I ask her what Maria's last name is....she doesnt know. I ask her to find out.....17 minutes on hold she comes back with "I don't know who to ask, I am new here." I am sorry but if you have someone who cannot even find out the last name of the nurse manager, you probably don't want them answering phones. I asked Ashley to please transfer me to someone else in the office...that was 7 minutes ago now and I am still waiting.....I have had enough time to write this whole review in the time I am waiting. Needless to say this combined with the terrible ER experience I had, I have ZERO confidence in Staten Island University Hospital and it's doctors. I will be looking elsewhere for a doctor.
