THE WORST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE!!
Firstly, we go in to the office to apply for an apartment that we liked. They were rude, talked to us like crap and their office was a mess. Shouting at each other about their tenants and papers everywhere; not the good kind. They spoke to us like crap, made errors in the contract and told us we were stupid when we didn’t understand certain parts and everything was done one paper…not one person in the office seems to use a computer. The broker was embarrassed for us.

The apartment, 8 months of a noisy neighbor made me hate NY. He played his bass all night and all evening most of the week and was abrasive and uncooperative. We told Standard Realty … they did nothing. We told them again and they wrote a letter than aggravated the situation. We told them again…they did nothing. I paid $750 to move out early.

When I moved out I asked for the pre-payment back (we pre-paid over a lot!). They were rude, made me wait 45 minutes, had no idea what I was there for etc. It was hard work just getting them to give me a time to come to the office.

Finally the deposit saga. It took weeks to get our deposit. The lady who deals with it kept hanging up on us, shouting at us and speaking to us like crap. She sent a check in the post and it got lost. We told them and they said ‘so what, not our problem’. They were rude, intimidating and I can’t believe how badly they treated us. It’s like they go out of their way to just be very angry and grumpy people. I would hate to work in that environment.
Eventually our broker (yes…a broker who we hadn’t spoken to for months!!) picked up our check for us, cashed it in and helped us massively. We were desperate. Even if I was desperate again I would never rent these people.
Jack spoke to us awfully. He’s angry and aggressive.
Flora, hung up on us repeatedly and is very rude.
Ken was civil.

well love is a strong word for a landlord, but i have been living in a building of thiers for about 6 years now and im plenty happy here. but the situation for finding a decent aprtment in new york sucks. when i got the apartment i noticed they have a wide range of units, some were not so nice whereas i chose to pay for and live in a nicer more renovated one

WHEN YOU THINK STANDARD REALTY ASSOCIATES YOU SHOULD THINK SCUMBAGS. Prob the worst landlord of all time. The super was never around to fix stuff. When you would call in the people were never in, but instead you would get a very old foreign woman who did not speak any english. My job relocated me and I tried to get out of the lease and even though I found a replacement enant they still tried to charge me $750. So I stuck out the lease and when all was said and done they kepy over $500 of my secuirty deposit. They have still yet to porvide the reasons in writing. They say that they had to fix things, but the new tenant moved in about 8 hrs after I left not leaving much tie to "fix" things that i allegedly broke and htye could not give details as to what it was. I do know they charge $75 for a broken smoke alarm
