There is a garage owned by standard parking on 161st street called Ruppert Plaza Garage. We parked here for a Yankee game. On our way out we payed cash at one of the machines that you can insert your entrance ticket into and pay. After paying $35.00 to the machine, it failed to stamp our ticket. We showed a parking attendant who said he thought it should still work, all we had to do was put the ticket in the exit machine and the arm would lift. We proceeded to get in line to exit and sure enough our ticket did not work. We explained our issue to the attendant who rudely fought with us and went to talk to a supervisor. He then said that they could tell our ticket had been placed in the machine we payed at but that since there was no stamp, it will not work and he cannot let us through. To deal with his rude rant that came soon after we just gave him another $35.00. That is a total of $70.00 to park! If you cannot trust your machines and know that they will make mistakes and understand that this will happen from time to time, then you should have attendants to ensure that your customers are not being robbed. Unacceptable, poor business management. This company owns many of the parking garages available around yankee stadium so it may be hard to avoid, but I would take the subway next time or look for alternate parking to avoid the aggravation after a lovely game. Not cool Standard Parking, not cool.
