I recently attended a funeral service for one of my friends and to my surprise, the parking lot was locked. Now, Co-op City is a place where finding a parking spot is like hitting the lotto so this was not acceptable. I arrived a bit early so I immediately went to the secretary and asked why the parking lot was closed; by the way, there was a one car parked inside. She stated that it wasn't her responsibility and that the "pastor" was unavailable. I asked her to call him but nothing was done. Needless to say, we were scrambling for parking spots. After the service I asked the priest who led the service why the parking lot was closed and he responded very coldly, "I forgot" - You forgot?! You didn't forget to park your car inside? How welcoming is this?! There were NO apologies at all. "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues (churches) and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers..." (NT-Matthew) -
