Reviews to St Michael's Medical Center
It makes me laugh at how you get treated rudely and quickly dismissed at a hospital. Your only job is to treat patients and do it with care and respect. Faces glued to cell phones , Newark hospitals are jokes.

I have two doctors at St. Michael's and they are the best. My Oncologist is a great doctor and I don't know what I would do without him. He takes time with his patients and shows that he care about all his patients. My primary doctor has left and move out of state, but she is a sweetheart. I have never had a doctor care so much. When I cried in the treatment room, she gave me a hug. I've never seen any Dr. do that. I've had surgeries at this hospital and have never had any problems with any staff member. Everyone is very nice and helpful.

rude staff, yell or disconnect you when calling for information. Must of the staff are too busy texting or on their cell phones. when you walk into a room they do not greet you or say someone will be th you soon. They continue personal conversations like you did not exsist. Sat for 4 hours even when my doctor call to check to see if a bed was avail. and told them I was on my way to be admited. When I got there NO BEDS . From 3 til 8 I sat in pain til my doctor came and made a fuss.

My mother goes to this hospital, main reason cause her pcp is affiliated there. The couple time that she was there, the staff was nice, but, they don't communicate to the patient on with what's going on with them in layman terms. They need to know that as a patient that don't have any medical terminology smartness, need to explain what's going on with them in a better manor.

The outpatient lab is garbage. They operate from 7 to 4, or so the sign says. 3 to 4 is by appointment only, which is understandable, what's not understandable is how their lunch break lasts from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. I have been turned away thrice now because they are 'on lunch' first at 11, then 12:30, then 1:30. They've lost my standing order a total of 3 times. The first time I had to get a new one, the second and third I brought a copy to assist them in locating it, which they did after much persuasion. Then they have the gall to ask me to sign a petition to 'save the hospital'. When the new owner or operator acquires the hospital, if you're reading this, fire the staff of the outpatient lab. They have no work ethic and you would be benefiting your clients greatly.
