Reviews to St Bartholomew's Church
Hospitality welcoming. I enjoy attending Mass in the chapel. The Church is large but allows room for private prayer. Parishioners are respectful and quiet when they see me praying; unlike some other parishes I go to where people start talking loudly with each other when they see me praying. I find that to be annoying!

I grew up in this neighborhood, and this was the church my family and I went to, It used to be a great church.
when I came back i decided to go to it a few times.
Its sad to see what it has become. I've decided to change church and start going to the next closed church in the neighborhood.
I had a lot of great memories, its sad to see what it has become. it seems like the church is just a business to them, not a place to teach people about religion or any positive values.
it feels more like a mafia, just scamming people out of their pennies faking to care about god.
so, sad.
something else, if you have someone who passed away, they wont event mention the persons name unless you pay them a ridiculous amount of cash. Its obviously a business for them, not about god.
and I kid you not, I went to a mass where the priest did not mention the bible at all he spent an hour talking gibberish and having the people raise their hand up in the form of a Nazi salute. When I came out I was telling the people I went with, what in the world was that? Plus some of the Ushers from time to time make of color comments.

I give one star just so that this rating posts. My mother was on life support waiting for last rites from a Catholic priest at Elmhurst Hospital. The Jesuit priest was not in today. We called St. Bart's asking for a priest to administer last rites so that we could let her die in dignity and not let her suffer any longer than necessary. We were told the priest could not come because he had back problems. We offered to drive him to/from the hospital. All of a sudden he was out picking up his medications. Sounds weak to me. How Christian of him to deny a dying woman last rite. Too inconvenient?! Keep that in mind if you choose to worship at a place that does not practice what they preach.
We called St Joan of Arc and a wonderful priest, Father Anthony, who was here from another country took a cab over and was kind and caring. My mother passed one hour later. Thank you Father Anthony.
