Ahhh yeah, the Spritz! Not sure if anyone says that, but I will... The Sprtiz happens to be just a couple blocks from my friend's place in Greenpoint, so I find myself here often on weekends.
As others have mentioned, it is a great place for groups. If you come early enough (or late enough), you can get a large bench table for 8+ people. They have Jenga!
My go to is definitely the brat with onions and peppers, and a one of their pilsners or IPA's on tap. Last time I had a belgian saison that came in a red can that was easily one of the best beers I had this year.
Is it noisy? Yes, it is a German beer hall. Do they only have brats, sausages, and fries on the menu? Yes, it is a German beer hall. Are there hipsters? Yeah, we are in the hipster capital of the world. (You probably are one too if you're here.) None of these are reasons to avoid Sprtzenhaus. You will have a great time.
Pro tip-- the communal bathroom sink with the rainfall showerheads that provide as much water as a light amazonian tropical storm is turned on and off by a foot pedal.

This place was a staple when I lived in Brooklyn. Absolutely huge bar with tons of service and a massive breadth of beer to choose from. Bar tenders are fun and unpretentious. The atmosphere is loud and jolly. This place is just plain fun. Check it out.

The bar staff has superiority complex problems. The type that makes you feel bad for asking them to poor you a beer or for asking them for a taste of a beer you never tried before. The food is average. The service weighs it down (based on approximately 10 visits over 1 year)

Great spot to come with a small or large group. Large tables with Jenga are tons of fun. No need to be cramped at a bar when you can come here. Don't forget the large selection of beers, delicious beers. German inspired snacks are great and delicious, though it would be nice if they were a dollar or two cheaper.
Come through during the day, night, spring, summer, winter, or whenever! Get drunks with friends and family and be comfortable while eating bratwursts.

Fantastic selection of beers and cocktails alongside a fairly extensive menu of sausages, Belgian fries and pretzels. The space is warm (fireplace!) with a considered and wel executed industrial interior. Large folding doors open up the entire facade in nice weather.
Only problem is how packed it gets on the weekend and that there is ZERO sound dampening or soft materials. You will be shouting the entire time. It's an open ceiling - they can easily throw some woodwool panels up there (which would help a ton).
They have Jenga too.
Great place, happy to go back on a weekday!
