Fainting while being attended by a physician is traumatic. About five years ago that happened to me while my ENT was packing my nose. I chose never to go back to that group again. That doctor may very well have done what was best for me, but I am not going back.
I just saw Dr. Berg, because my nose bleeds are back. He cauterized my nose which is nasty, but it was very quick. He didn't tell me what he was going to do, but I knew what needed to be done.
If ever I need to see an ENT I will go back to Dr Berg, because he gave me the feeling that he had done that many times before, and I found it reassuring. I could sense his confidence in his behavior, the questions were very appropriate, I think he listened to what I had to say, the responses were on target. He also unmasked something of which I was not aware, but when he said it, it fit my experience.
I believe that some jobs are simply nasty, and there is no way to dress them up. Try never to go to an ENT, but if you have to, go to Dr. Berg.

Dr. Berg recently operated on my boyfriend for a deviated septum. As a surgeon, you will find none better. He performed the procedure at an outpatient surgery facility and did a wonderful job. The reason I gave Dr. Berg 4 out of 5 stars is because he is just that: a great surgeon. His bedside manner leaves something to be desired. For example, I attended the post-operative appointment with my boyfriend and Dr. Berg did not ask if we had any questions. Dr. Berg did not warn my boyfriend before he removed the tubes and gauze from his nose, causing my boyfriend to experience vasovagal syncope. The doctor also did not explain what the hell he was doing with his other instruments; he merely rooted around with suction and scraping tools without any warning whatsoever. He then left us alone in the room for several minutes after stating, "You must calm down." When my boyfriend was well enough to talk again and had gotten some of his color back, Dr. Berg told us, "You're free to go." No instructions, no offer to answer our questions; we had to ask the nurse if we needed to do anything special moving forward. My boyfriend had the shakes the entire way home.
