I went in to Spare Pair some time ago and bought a set of frames and lenses. Staff was friendly enough and the prices were good. Placed my order.
Twice I had to return them immediately after receiving because the lenses had been cut wrong. They finally got it right and on my way I went.
Cut to about a year, maybe year and a half later and the paint has started wearing off of my frames. Mind you that I take good care of my glasses and have never once dropped these, nor do I expose them to corrosive chemicals or substances. I've also had frames in the past from Lens Crafters that have lasted several years before ever showing such signs of wear.
Took them back in to Spare Pair in hopes that they would work something out, but I was basically told that I was outside of my one year warranty and that I would have to re-purchase new frames. No responsibility for the fact that they sold me a clearly poor product. No gesture of a discount or offer that might entice me to stay with them. Nothing.
So congratulations! You not only lost all of my future sales, but any future sales of my other family members. I will warn my friends of my experience instead of recommending your business. And I will absolutely file a former complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Hope what you made off me or saved by not helping me replace these frames was worth losing the business over.
