Starter was completely unfazed by the fact that he was 30 min behind schedule at 9am on Sat morning. Tees weren't mowed, horribly marked. Course layout is great, just needs some work.

Best pace of play out of the courses on the island plus the course is usually very well maintained. Can't wait for the snack bar to be back.

I've played many of the public courses in NYC. Dyker, Marine Park, Clearview, Silver Lake, etc. South Shore was all around the best course I've played thus far. Round was well-paced, we got out on time, and the conditions were excellent. Hard to believe it's a public course - puts the others in NYC to shame.
