I am so grateful that I have found this doctor! Since 2008 I have been a patient, and I was in such extreme pain that it was taking away my quality of life. I had been to other dentists, specialists and oral surgeons and none of them could help me!! Feeling hopeless that I couldn’t get the help that I needed, sent me down a depressive path. I made an appointment and I knew from my first visit that I was in good hands! The whole office staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. I have total trust in the expertise and experience of this doctor and I have recommended a few of my family and friends, and they were pleased with him as well.
I wish I had found this doctor sooner than I did, but I’m 100% pleased with my treatments and the entire practice!

I am not one who usually writes reviews on Internet sites, either positive or negative. However, I recently came upon a review on this site (Google+) concerning my dentist, John P. Sousa, written by one CC Cumbess which is so out of line with reality that I am compelled to respond. In describing a first visit with Dr. Sousa, Cumbess alleges unprofessionalism involving indifference, rudeness, and even hucksterism. Allow me to tell of my first visit with Dr. Sousa. I was at the time an extreme sufferer of dentophobia having not been to a dentist for years. My anxiety was immediately alleviated by Dr. Sousa's empathy and calming airs. We spent considerable time discussing my situation at which point I felt comfortable enough to lie back in the chair and have his skillful hands work on my teeth. And that was 23 years ago! Over the decades I have had many different procedures performed in his office and in every case Dr. Sousa always took the time to carefully explain the procedure and then do the work in an amazingly pain free manner. Along with his staff, he has truly been this dentophobe's salvation and I look forward to many more years in his care.

I have been a patient of Dr. John Sousa for over 31 years.His clinical practice is of the highest caliber. He is a true professional who works with his patients developing a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan. At 62 years of age I am fortunate to have all of my "original teeth" due to his expert care and treatment. Agnes and Diana, his clinical support staff, exceed the standards for customer care and professionalism. As a healthcare professional I would recommend Dr. John Sousa and his staff without reservation!

I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I was in my experience at Dr. Sousa's office on June 6, 2014. Never have I been treated so rudely by a dentist or any other professional for that matter. I went in for an Invisalign consultation and expressed to him that I was a serious buyer, interested in getting the treatment started right away. Dr. Sousa did a quick examination of my teeth and determined I would be a good candidate. He was not informative at all, so I repeatedly asked questions that I would have hoped would have automatically been explained by him. Instead, he was cold and even misleading when it came to price. I asked him if the treatment was around $3,000 based on my research and he balked, saying "No! It's more like $5,000." Then he just stared at me as if that was a deal breaker. I then asked him for an actual quote and he disappeared for a while. He came back without any paperwork, mumbling "It would be about $3500 for you." He never acknowledged or explained why he initially quoted me 5K.

He then tried to get me to make a down payment on the treatment without rendering any initial services - not even x-rays or impressions. In fact, when his assistant asked him (in my presence) if she could start my impressions, he stared me down while responding to her and said "No, we're not doing anything today." He then behaved like an auctioneer, asking if I could make an $800 deposit - and when I said no, he said "what about $500?" I asked what my down payment was going toward, since I had not yet received a fee quote in writing and he said verbatim, "You get nothing, you just pay." I was obviously shocked at this statement, so I immediately got up and left his offices, never to return. I'm not sure what kind of scheme Dr. Sousa is running but his unprofessional was excessive to the point of discrimination. Never ever visit this awful place!!
