Dr. Lederman prescribed my younger sister an anti-malarial without checking the interactions with other medications. She developed a rare brain disease and had to be medically evacuated from Nicaragua. We called Dr. Lederman, he looked it up finally, and said "oops"- and then proceeded to ask us why it was such a problem that my sister was in the hospital near death. Fortunately, after many months, she recovered. It was negligent, idiotic, and the lack of compassion with which he responded was astounding.
