Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation

I do not have any family staying here but I do come here quite often. I provide aquarium service for this establishment and I really love coming here. You can tell the people really want the best for their patients. For example, we are setting up 2 aquariums. They have the budget for 1 really nice aquarium and 1 regular aquarium. Instead of putting the really nice one in the cafeteria they have chosen to put their really nice aquarium in their most excluded part of the nursing home, which is the area for people who have mental disorders. And I found that really beautiful. To put their best for people they know won't get much publicity or anything like that from. But rather just for the simple reason of making their lives better because, and this is their words exactly "because they already have so little". And this is also one of the cleanest and newest establishments I've been to.

The Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is a not-for-profit organization. It was originally founded by the Salvation Army and is now a sponsored entity of NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System.
