My best place to be in whenever I am in Flushing,Queens. The Sikh Temple(Gurudwara) might not look big from outside, but once inside they have a large seating capacity for the visitors(sangat) and basement for community kitchen. It always feels to be great how we are keeping the Sikh faith alive.
People from all faiths and religions are always welcomed. There is a concept of community kitchen in Sikhism where everbody is served free food. One must visit it over Sunday when they have special darbar(gathering) sahib. The food served includes all vegetarian dishes ranging from dal(lentil soup),vegetable curry, rice, roti(bread),dahi(curd),kheer(dessert) etc.
