I LOVE Shostakovitch School!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a student there for already 6 years in Ballet! I LOVE my teacher Svetlana who helps us a lot!! Now I know how to do fouette ( professional ballerina turns and I could dance on pointe shoes!) Sveta is a very professional ballet teacher! I really recommend children to go to this school. Sveta also helped students for the Mark Twain test and some got in!! It is very organized there and very kind staff! Who knows maybe you could become a professional ballerina or artist if you go to this school!

From the very young age my daughter was interested in many different types and various styles of music at home or in the car. As she got older, I was amazed at how well she respond to music and how quickly she can memorize the lyrics. I thought it is most important that I would give my child every opportunity to be musical and that she would have fun! I was recommended to Shostakovich School of Music, Art& Dance and I am glad I chose them because it�s the best music school in Brooklyn, NY with the most talented music instructors ever. My daughter attended their piano classes almost 3 years now and I am so happy seeing the absolute joy in her face. Her Piano Teacher is Dr. Irina Schipacheva and she is amazing. She taught my little eight year old girl to play a version of Vivaldi�s Autumn. It was quite a challenge for her and she worked very hard on it. She performed it perfectly on the day of the concert in front of about one hundred parents and children. After the concert I found a note that she left for me saying �I did it Mommy! I love you. I did it and now I know all of it!!� We both really happy with Shostakovich School of Music, Art& Dance.

I feel lucky to have found Shostakovich School of Music, Art & Dance located in Brooklyn, NY. I began my journey at the age of 9 with piano lessons. These gradually turned into guitar lessons at the age of 21. I have always had a deep passion for music; it has brought a whole new dimension into my life. I now can't imagine my life without music and performing in it. My music mentors give their students a chance to grow, and develop into artists in the most organic way possible. Their knowledge of music and skills on a plethora of instruments is unmatched. Couple this with the professional and warm-hearted nature of Diana Trost who is the Founder and Executive Director of school, and I can't imagine why anyone would take lessons anywhere else. I felt compelled to write this review and encourage anyone with an interest or desire to play music to come down to Shostakovich School of Music, Art & Dance and get involved in this awesome community of musicians.
