shear insanity is one of the best salons around. It's the best salon that i've been to. I have alot of bad experiences when i came down with my hair everything from bad color jobs, breakage, styling and just not having a good repore from the stylists. I have known yancey edwards owner of Shear Insanity since I was 17 years old and i'm now 30 years old. When i was in high school i was going to Mary Swans in Newark where yancey worked as an assitant him and i'll never forget when my friend came in with a botched up weave that yancey took in transformed into a completely different look. After my stylist went on maternity leave and yancey leaving Mary Swan and began working in the basement of his home. I decided to try him out he did my hair and absolutely loved it i was hooked ever since. I say that to say this, Yancey has mastered the art of taking someone for ordinary to extraordinary. He is great at was he does and has the confidence to go with it and is always professional. Shear Insanity is a fun and loving enviroment that i look forward to going to every week for my fabulous haircut. I mean it's life things happen people will be late sometimes your appt might even get cancelled, but please don't try to bash someone or assassinate someone's character because you had a bad experience. geessshh! and as far as your cut not coming out like you wanted it to. What did you want? because it sounds to me like you sat there being judgemental and not verbalizing what you wanted or maybe your hair was so damaged you couldn't get with you want. I know your entitled to your opinion maybe you didn't get what you wanted it's possible because we don't always get what we want or think we could or should have, but to say this salon is 1 star. I must say this is a salon full of talent they are very friendly and I came there as a walk in I waited a bit however they were jus so fun the wait was well worth it.my hair was jus beautiful.
