Shaggy Chic Doggie Bed and Bath

Love, love, love this pet salon and doggy daycare. We drive from south jersey to bring our Whoodle to see Donna and the crew at Shaggy Chic. The grooming skills are fabulous and the establishment is very clean and welcoming. You won't be disappointed!

Went to the new location in East Rutherford. This place is amazing - the rooms, decor & service are unbelievable! There is always somebody there 24/7. Definitely a peace of mind knowing my baby's in the best care possible. Got a tour of the new wing (currently under construction) but when it's done, it's going to be the best in the area! Prices are great too!

Chimpy and his late sister Chewy have been coming here for years. Always a nice job !

We've been bringing our dog here for boarding for about 4 years now, upon recommendation of someone who lived in our former building. He seems to enjoy it, and sometimes he gets to sleep upstairs on the couch with the attendant overnight - which he loves because he adores humans.

Other reviewers are right - it can be a bit loud and chaotic in there when there's grooming going on due to the layout. We've never used the grooming services so we can't speak to that.

Would be nice to see them get an electronic scheduling system (vs. a manual/write-in scheduling book), to reduce the chance of human error (or god forbid something happened to the book --> no back up), but hey, if it works for them and our dog has a bed to sleep in when we reserve one, so be it!

I would recommend them.

Today was the first day my dog was at Shaggy Chic and it is his last!! He came home so sick and stressed out. It was such chaos that the groomer (Donna) couldn't even hear me when she was asking what I wanted in a cut for my pooch and that was obvious when I picked him up and he looked like crap. For $50 I could give him a bath and haircut like that. DO NOT bother going here. Not only was it a bad experience, but it SMELLED really bad. I will NEVER take by baby back there again. Next time we are going to try Bow Wow! I'll keep you posted. Good luck anyone that goes here - you won't see us there.
