Decided to dine at this steakhouse after seeing a commercial and since it is close by, I figured, why not.
The building itself is nice, but the crowd isn't. Expect to see all of your local Bergen County to want to be milfs, you might even spot your grandparents there on a Saturday night. That's the type of crowd you should expect on a Saturday night.
I don't care much for the crowd, however, the reason why I gave this place only 1 star is because of the food. I ordered the 25oz rib eye, which tasted like absolute garbage. It had no flavor, no seasoning, no NOTHING. My girlfriend also ordered the "special" bone in 14oz filet minon and that was horrible as well. It felt like I was eating rubber. I was so disappointed to the point where I just stopped eating. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes and it came of cold, not even slightly warm. Cold!!!!!
2 sprites (2 refills), filet minon and rib eye which were about $46 each, lobster bisque soup = $140......waste of my hard earned money.
The food at this place is a disgrace, please trust my review. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Sear has a beautifull onyx bar upon entrance with a noticable wall-vertical fountain unlike anyone else. It divides main dinning room to a semi-dinning room section. In addition, it contains a cozy lounge section with center layed fire place, and right by it a private room divided by top-bottom double glass grand doors.
Service is magnificent and on point. The food is terrific, my favourite appetizers are artichoke hearts with hint of truffle oil and lobster avocado. Steak for two is outstanding, allthough last time I've been there my friend tried the fillet mg on the bone - dry aged, and liked it very much. Something I plan on trying on my next visit. For side dishe we had brocoli rabe and hashbrowns, they complimented to the steak perfectly. Dinner was followed by a nice wild berry tart topped with the scop of ice cream.
This restaurant continues to impress, and we'll be definetly going back.

After striking out while trying to find a last-minute reservation on a Saturday night, Sear House let us in with a 30 minute window; my family had been there before and said it was a great spot. We got there and were immediately greeted by two waiters who remembered my family (my father tends to be a memorable patron), and for the rest of the night, the service was right on. They joked comfortably, were very attentive, and fixed any issues immediately. The decor of the place is very appealing, modern in design, colors, and lighting, while not feeling too "trendy" in a forced way. As for the food, both portions and quality were excellent. My appetizer mussels were just the right amount, my salad was simple but well-done, and my 24 oz Ribeye was perfect. This was a thick, large steak, cooked exactly how I asked (medium rare) and had that wonderful dry-aged sweetness that requires no further tampering. Honesetly it was one of the best cuts I've had in a long time, and I have been to many of the high-end steakhouses in the NYC-NJ area. Dessert was fine, nothing to rave about, but at that point, we were already more than satisfied. Chef Gino came over to the table as we drank our coffee, and we expressed to him how good of a job he was doing with the restaurant. Overall, I will definitely try to make it back there next time I'm in town, and I know for a fact that my family will frequent. Overall, the restaurant excelled, and though it was a bit pricey, the quality matches. Highly recommended.

Just returned from second visit to Sear House. Went to Sear back in February of 2012 and again today (Sept 2012). In February, the food was good, but not great. However, this evening everything was excellent. My boyfriend and I both ordered the 13 ounce butcher cut filet which were perfectly cooked and very tender. In additional, all of the sides were very enjoyable and the portions are very large (plenty to take home). The ambiance was also great - very trendy with a beautiful bar and indoor fire pit.
